He was "riding his bike to the office."

He LOVES having the missionaries over.  Before they came, he said, "I'm not a boy.  I'm a missionary!"

Came upon this scene yesterday.  "The bunny has a poopy and the horse has a rash."

A few minutes later he informed me they were feeling better. :)

Abram's Prayer

Abram said the prayer last night for FHE, all by himself!

It went something like this:

"Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank thee for this day.

Thank thee for opportunity.

Thank thee for Jesus.

And example.

Thank thee for Daddy.

And Mommy.

And Uncles....and aunts....

and example.

and Spirit.

....

Name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!!"

Aila, 2 Months

(She's coming up on 3 months so this is a little late)

11 lbs 4 oz (46%)

23 1/4 inches (81%)

She loves watching her big brother.

She loves to smile and coo.  Abram and I have been working on our baby talk.

She still loves her baths.

She has the softest, chubby little cheeks and cutest little turned-up nose.

She even has some chunk on her thighs--just enough for me to squeeze!

She loves sucking on her fists.

Abram likes to get the "fuzzies" out from in between her toes...or at least point them out and make sure I take care of them.  :)

I think she looks like Ben in his chubbier days (when he was about 2-ish). :)

An Asian man the other day told us that Abram looks like me and Aila looks like Ben...which means a lot of good luck for us!!

Everyone's first comment about her is, "Look at all that hair!"  It's still dark but growing in a lot lighter.

Her eye color is hard to pick out...but I think they may be turning brown.
I can't believe she's already growing out of the newborn stage.  She used to grunt a LOT but hardly does it anymore.  I think it worried Ben more than me.  :)  It would actually make me laugh to hear these loud grunting noises coming out of my tiny baby girl dressed in pink!

She sleeps pretty well at night, waking up once or twice to feed and going back to sleep...her naps haven't been great at all (she likes to be held) but are slowly getting better.

Some days seem really long but overall time is going so quickly!

Of course, I think she's the most beautiful baby girl ever.  I love her and am so grateful I get to be her mother.

Abram says...

Abram: "Mommy, I have an owie."
Me: "Oh, I'm sorry, do you need a kiss?"
Abram: "No, just a band-aid.  Maybe tomorrow."

"A-wuh (Aila), look at Elmo!  Do you see Elmo?" while holding his book one inch from her face.

In response to a lot of things I say, "That's perty neat, Mommy!"  (I never say that...maybe he got it from nursery..??)

While pulling out a pair of men's briefs from the laundry basket, "Oh, it's Daddy's swim diaper!"

"Swimming soup" = swimming suit

Out of the blue, "Where's King Benjamin?"

Me: "Abram, would you like to potty train soon?"
Abram:  "Yeah!!!  Where's the potty train?!"

Me:  "Abram, let's get ready for the day!"
Abram:  "Okay!....Mommy, where's the day?" (and he'll continue to ask me several times throughout the day...it's a hard one to explain!)

"I wanna hooold yeeeooouuu!"  (meaning I want you to hold me)

"Mommy, are you happy?"  He asks me (and Ben) this several times a day.  He is very observant and sensitive to other's feelings...and when I'm having a bad day, it's such a sweet, innocent reminder to not sweat the small stuff.  He's so sweet!

Grover Hot Springs

Grover Hot Springs, a campground near Lake Tahoe, has been a family camping destination for decades.  I turned two the first time I went!  Our little family actually went this year, but stayed in a cute little motel close by so I wouldn't have to nurse a newborn in a cold tent in the middle of the night.  :)

We left at 6am on July 4th.  Aila slept most of the way, and Abram didn't sleep at all but was an angel the whole time; so excited for our "benture." (Adventure)  The second day we were there, he woke up and said, "Where's my benture?"  He had a blast being outdoors with so many family members he loves.  Aila did pretty well the whole time, even though it was super hot.  She made almost every picture--everyone wanted a turn to hold her (she turned 8 weeks the day we got there).
